Better Performance for Heavy Loads The BF8 and 9.9 are available with an optional Power Thrust design (BFP models). The 10" x 7 5/8" 4-blade Power Thrust propeller creates 60% more thrust in reverse and 15% more forward. The result? Greater maneuverability and performance. Reverse Exhaust Relief for Increased Maneuverability The exhaust relief feature creates more power in reverse by minimizing cavitation around the propeller blades. The exhaust relief is located above the cavitation plate, allowing the prop to operate in clean, exhaust-free water. Easy One-Handed Starting Working together, an integrated decompression release system and digital CDI set ignition timing to zero degrees during cranking. This greatly reduces the effort required to start the engine by hand. Auto-Start Enrichment - Starts Easily The auto-start enrichment acts like an automatic choke. It automatically adjusts the air/fuel mixture for quick, easy starting and warm-up. Lightweight Rounded Design Easy to Carry, the BF8 and 9.9 are for small boats, dinghies or tenders. The ergonomic design is rounded to prevent catching fishing line. Integrated Carry Handle - Easier Transport An integrated carry handle makes transporting the engine a breeze. The practical folding carrying handle is located at the exact upper/lower balance point of the motor. This means that the motor is more easily transported in a level position.
